9/11
Everyone in the USA at some point this week expresses their feeling for this day or reflects at a memorial spread through our states, watches a TV program or writes their feelings on a blog.
I am writing on a blog.
5 years ago when the first plane struck...I was actually still asleep. Usually I am up much earlier but for some reason I was sleeping in a tad that morning.
My phone rang from my Mother wondering if I was in NY and to call her (No reason why)
Phone rang again from our friend Teresa saying something similar.
So it struck mycuriosity as to why people are calling me wondering if I am ok and in NY.
So I strolled down stairs and turned the TV on to see the horror! My first immediate response is the poor people and how many were in that building.
Then slightly after that, the next plane hit....then the Petagon...then the plane that went down in Pennsylvania. As with the rest of the country, you are confused, scared and horrifed by what you are witnessing. How can the USA be under attack !?!?!?!
Five years later, it is still shocking to see the footage of what happened....Although, we are used to seeing those images, it will never be something that a person can get used to.
Being from New Jersey, the deaths that came from this state were horrible. Just about every town on the eastern sea board had someone die in the towers. Living here is a constant reminder all year round about what happened that day.
I don't think that people from around the country or world can understand what and how this has impacted these states that were so tragically effected by these events. It is something that unless you live here, you know what I am talking about.
George Bush
Our Leader, Our President, the Man whom we look up to and follow. This man has failed the people of the USA and the world. The people of Iraq were not responsible for these events on 9/11, I doubt they even new what was happening or were even going to happen...and possibly they were actually horrified by these events and simpfied with the civilians of our country for even a minute.
Bush, then declares WAR....not on Osama Bin Laden, but Iraq !?!?! Where the hell did that come from...why is he going after Saddam Hussein!?!?! What is going on?
Solidgers and civilians of the middle east are dying for POWER, OIL and Leadership. They are not fighting for freedom or dying for freedom...they are dying for POWER of the Bush regimn.
The American public has been tricked and fooled into thinking that this war was to combat terrorism....the terrorists are still trying to kill us and British citizens and we are no closer to capturing Bin laden...but we do have Saddam Hussein!
I am discusted and embarrased at times to be an American, there was a time that I was proud but not any more. I am proud of who I am as a person and the life that I lead...but I am not proud to represent this country as a citizen and will not be proud until a Democratic President is elected.
